Thats What I Call "Hard Work Pays"

I have been able to finish knitting the afghan and shawl. They sure make me feel good as both look pretty. Can't wait for winter now......

As The Weather Changes

The peak summer furnace is gradually cooling down to a warm level. Stepping out of the house is not a task any longer as the hot winds do not bite into the skin now. The warm air does not splash sand in your face any more and flowers do not need to droop and hide their faces from the sun. Few cool showers have settled the dust and sand. The progress towards a cooler weather is slow but can still be felt like leisurely moving escalator steps.

I am anxiously waiting for the new flowers to bloom as the weather is improving and flowers will get a chance to flaunt their colours with their heads held high in great esteem. I am impatiently waiting to watch the birds stop by at the bird bath for a dip and a sip of water.

The Dog Has All The Fun - Dog's Day Out

Visit To The Zoo

I took these pictures of the giraffe, zebra, ostrich and turtles during my visit to the zoo and the aquarium while I was on vacation last month.

The School In Waves

The fish swim with such grace with their school fellows. They seem to glide on the waves.

My Loom Project

My Loom Project has taken off well.

I came up with my own stitch after a lot of thought and research. I am looking forward to the finished product.

It sure is fun to knit on the loom as the progress is much faster than on the knitting needles.

The yarn chosen by me is a dark multi coloured one appropriate for peak winters.

The stitch gives a reversible pattern so using the stole would be simple.

Reflective Moods

Serenity in white makes me drown into the past and drift away into childhood. Childhood, perhaps the most interesting and memorable period of life. I can relate to my childhood actions and behaviour better now after years as I understand life after having seen it so closely.

Brightest Moon 30th January 2010

The Moon was as bright as the Sun on 30th January 2010. It was a magnificent sight as the Moon shone like a beautiful Star and the silver moonshine enveloped it to light up the dark skies.

If Petals Could Sing They Would Only Hum Sweet Melodies

A Sweet Gesture

Our life is a little disoriented these days as our kitchen is under renovation. We are literally living out of a tray for the last five weeks. Cooking happens in the morning and lunch is stored for the afternoon. The carpenters take over the kitchen from 10 am and hand it over to us by 7 pm. Emptying the kitchen is a mammoth task. We have then been surviving with limited resources as major utensils have been neatly packed. We generally do not have too many guests visiting us but these weeks have been very socially bustling for us. So it has been tough and tough are we not!! This morning Rashmi aunty was on her routine walk with her friend from Germany. Must add here how much I admire her for being so regular with her morning and evening walks. I even hold great admiration fro my mother who too is very regular with her exercise regime. So going back to Rashmi aunty. Mum and I were sitting in the porch when Rashmi aunty walked up and said she would be visiting us as soon as she finishes her walk. And she mentioned just one cup of tea and no snacks with it. I sheepishly admitted that tea was difficult to get as we do not have access to the kitchen till late evening. But nevertheless they were most welcome to come over. Rashmi aunty and her friend came over after fifteen minutes and mummy and I just could not believe that aunty was carrying tea for us. What lovely guests who bring tea with them. We all sipped a nice hot cup of tea and while leaving Rashmi aunty filled our flask with tea for the evening too. That was so touching and an absolutely caring gesture that we can never forget.
